- 1 tbsp avocado or olive oil (can also use coconut oil, ghee, or neutral oil of choice)
- 1 egg
For the Apple Layer
- 2 large apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp maple syrup or honey
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- Pinch of nutmeg (optional)
Optional Toppings
- Powdered sugar
- Whipped cream or Greek yogurt
- Extra maple syrup
Directions
1. Preheat Oven
-
Preheat the oven to 375°F. Grease or butter a 9x13 baking dish.
2. Prepare
- In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add apple slices, maple syrup, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Cook 5–6 minutes until the apples are soft and caramelized. Spread evenly in the bottom of the baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together Heavenly Waffles Cinnamon Apple mix, sparkling water, oil, and egg until smooth.
4. Assemble & Bake
- Pour the batter evenly over the apples in the baking dish.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, until puffed and golden.
5. Serve
- Let cool slightly, then cut into slices, turning each slice over when plating, so the apples are on top. Dust with powdered sugar, add whipped cream or greek yogurt for an extra dose of protein, and drizzle with maple syrup if desired.
